Bas Rinjani Trekking – The rainy season has started, but of course for those of you who are altitude lovers and still have a hidden desire for trekking Rinjani rainy season, you don’t need to worry, because the 2022 Rinjani trekking season is still open until next December.
Since September 2022, the climbing season of Mount Rinjani has entered the low season, which means that visitors to Mount Rinjani who do trekking have begun to decrease and are not as busy as at the beginning of the opening of the last climb since March 2022.
Most of those who do Rinjani trekking during this rainy season are those who previously stopped at Gili Trawangan or Kuta Mandalika, and even a few of them stopped first on the island of Bali.
From the official website of Rinjani National Park, it was observed (28/10/2022) that a total of 103 climbers were doing Rinjani trekking, consisting of 69 male climbers and 52 female climbers.
From the graph in the image above. When compared with the climbing season in 2021, there was a decrease in the number of climbers this month. This is good news for those of you who want to do Rinjani Trekking in the near future, because it is included in the low season and the budget for Trekking Organizer services can also be said to be cheaper.

For those of you who intend to do Rinjani trekking in the near future or this week, then there are some tips you need to know:
1. Make sure the body condition is fit
Keep the condition of the body stay healthy because the health of the body condition is the main thing that must be considered. Because, climbers must pay more attention and keep the body in prime condition before climbing. If your body is healthy and fit, climbing during the rainy season allows you to be less susceptible to diseases, such as flu, cough, and fever.
2. Find weather information for the mountain you are going to visit (Rinjani weather)
Even though you may have climbed the mountain several times, the natural conditions and weather characteristics may change and differ from what you know. Before climbing during the rainy season at the destination mountain, it’s a good idea to look for more information first. Also check the open-close status of the mountain to be addressed. Some mountains close their climbing doors when the weather is bad. Or verify it through the Trekking Organizer that you use, for example Bas Rinjani Trekking.
3. Check the Condition of Trekking Equipment
Checking the condition of climbing equipment is something that climbers routinely do before traveling. If you use the services of a Trekking organizer, then also make sure they have good equipment to support Rinjani trekking during the rainy season such as tents, playsheets, and so on and make sure they are always ready with a raincoat.
4. Choose an easy hiking trail/ trail
If the climbing terrain on the mountain you want to go to is difficult to reach during the rainy season, choose a mountain with easy climbing terrain.
In addition, choose a mountain with a short journey to the top and a short descent. If the weather is bad, you can go straight down.
In Rinjani itself there are several routes that are commonly used, namely, the Sembalun, Senaru, Torean, and Timbanuh routes. However, for the rainy season we recommend you to choose the Sembalun or Senaru route.
5. Prepare lots of change of clothes
When preparing a change of clothes, bring more than usual. If the clothes you wear are wet because of the rain, you can change to dry clothes so you don’t get cold. Don’t forget to wrap your clothes in a plastic bag to keep them dry.
6. Luggage wrapped in plastic
Rain can fall suddenly. To avoid water seepage of your belongings, especially extra clothes, wrap them in plastic. Some items can be damaged if exposed to water, such as a flashlight or stove. So it is important to keep your belongings dry.
7. Turn off the phone when the weather is bad
Cell phones are things that are often carried by people, including when climbing. If you are hiking in the rainy season and worse weather occurs, turn off your phone immediately. Because electronic devices, including smartphones, are prone to being struck by lightning if they are still on
8. Make sure to choose a trusted Trekking Organizer
A trusted trekking organizer must have a license and a team that has been proven to be able to manage and maintain your trip while climbing the mountain, be it guides and their porters. Bas Rinjani Trekking is one of them that has long experience and official permission from Rinjani National Park.
